The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is an intermediate-level credential for professionals who support workplace safety practices. Candidates are required to have professional experience that includes safety responsibilities. CSPs conduct worksite assessments, determine risk, measure hazards and controls, evaluate risk and hazard control measures, investigate incidents, maintain incident and loss records, and prepare emergency response plans. Candidates are required to hold a bachelor's degree in any field. CSP candidates must meet experiential requirements that relate to the field of workplace safety. Candidates must pass a written exam.

The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) is an entry-level certification. The CDT is a prerequisite to CSI's other certification offerings. The CDT allows candidates to demonstrate knowledge of the construction process, contractual relationships, and construction documents. To earn a CDT certification, candidates must have a high school diploma/GED and pass an exam.

The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) is an intermediate-level certification. The CCS allows candidates to demonstrate their knowledge of contractual relationships, document organization, and document preparation. A CCS is an individual who is able to administer a contract for construction according to CSI guidelines. The candidate would have an understanding of agreements, conditions of a contract, Division 01, as well as researching and sourcing products. To earn a CCS certification, candidates must have experience in the field and be able to pass an exam.

The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) is an intermediate-level certification. The CCCA is for candidates who can demonstrate their knowledge in all facets of the construction process and contractual relationships, as well as construction contract administration. A CCCA is an individual who can complete tasks in the areas of quality control, bidding and negotiating, construction inspections, and enforcement and liability. To earn a CCCA certification, candidates must have experience in the field and be able to pass an exam.

A Concrete Construction Special Inspector certification is aimed at persons qualified to inspect and record the results of concrete construction inspection based on codes and job specifications. The program covers inspection during preplacement, placement, and post-placement operations. Candidates must hold a current certification as an ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I; obtain a passing grade on the written inspection examination; and obtain a passing grade on the written plans reading examination. Renewal Period: 3 years

The International Code Council (ICC) Building Plans Examiner – B3 certification is an intermediate-level credential for individuals who review and examine building construction documents for conformity to building codes and regulations. Building Plans Examiners are responsible for reviewing submitted plans to determine if the plans meet requirements set by the jurisdiction within which the building stands. At this level of certification, the examiner reviews plans for any size of building in any occupancy classification. The ICC B3 exam validates an individual's basic technical knowledge, education and related experience as an examiner. The certification holder demonstrates the ability to read blueprints, and has a strong knowledge of building codes, and can determine if plans meet regulated criteria for safety, utilities, and installations. Additionally, examiners with the B3 certification review the status of and land and building permits. Certified individuals understand building planning, footings, foundations, floor construction, wall construction, coverings, roof and ceiling construction, and public safety construction as it applies to building code compliance. There are no experience requirements, education requirements, or pre-requisites that must be met prior to taking the written exam. However, individuals seeking the Building Plans Examiner certification should have technical knowledge and related experience in their chosen field of expertise. The International Code Council (ICC), Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector - 47 certification is an intermediate-level credential for individuals who examine materials used in engineering projects for conformances with applicable plans, specifications and codes, obtaining field samples and related concrete inspector tasks. Concrete Special Inspectors are required to earn the ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification. Individuals seeking the Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector certification should have technical knowledge and related experience in their chosen field of expertise. Candidates are required to meet experiential requirements and must pass ICC exams.

The National Council of Building Design Certification (NCBDC) / American Institute of Building Design (AIBD), Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD) certification is for design professionals designing and preparing the construction documents for one and two-family dwellings and light commercial buildings within the United States. CPBD candidates must have at least six years of practical experience (up to three years of educational experience may be substituted for practical experience) and pass a written exam.

The Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP) is an advanced skill level credential for professionals who lead and direct projects. Project Managers perform their duties under general supervision for the duration of a project and are responsible for all aspects of a project. PMPs lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the constraints of schedule, budget, and scope. Project Management Professionals seeking certification through PMI demonstrate knowledge and experience to apply a methodology to projects that have well-defined requirements and deliverables. To apply for the PMP, candidates must meet experiential and educational requirements and are required to pass the written exam.

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification is an intermediate, managerial credential developed for professionals who demonstrate competency and work part-time or full-time in supervisory positions with tasks devoted to the prevention of harm to individuals in the workplace environment. The STS is often sought by safety professionals who are first-line supervisors and managers. STS candidate must have expertise in monitoring worksites for job hazards, helping to ensure regulatory compliance occurs, training employees in safety practices, performing safety-related record keeping, coordinating corrections for safety problems within or among work groups, and communicating with safety specialists or management. Candidates must take a written examination.

A Concrete Transportation Construction Inspector is an individual who has demonstrated proficiency in concrete inspection methods for transportation projects, including preplacement, placement, and post-placement operations. Candidates must obtain a passing grade on the written inspection examination and the written plans reading examination as well as fulfill the requirements for the ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician-Grade 1 certification. Candidates must also have a minimum of a high school diploma plus a minimum of three years of satisfactory work experience or two years of college or technical school plus two years of satisfactory work experience or five years of satisfactory work experience.

The CCM is aimed at construction professionals who manage entire projects and programs using pre-planning, design, construction, close out and management expertise. The Associate Engineering Technologist (AT) certification is intended for individuals who have graduated from an engineering technology bachelor's degree program accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (TAC/ABET). An engineering degree will NOT be considered as a substitute for a program from an accredited school. The International Code Council (ICC), Residential Building Inspector - B1 is an intermediate-level certification designed for professionals who perform residential building inspections. Residential Building Inspectors are responsible for performing inspections of structures to determine compliance with various building codes and standards adopted by his/her jurisdiction. At this level of certification, the Inspector must be able to inspect one-and-two family dwellings, townhomes not more than three stories in height, and accessory structures.

RMPs specialize in assessing and identifying project risks, mitigating threats and capitalizing on opportunities. Professional Engineer License. As a P.E., you would be able to perform certain tasks, such as stamp and seal designs, bid for government contracts, be principal of a firm, perform consulting services, and offer services to the public. While each state licensing board has its own laws regarding engineering licensure, there is a general four-step process for licensure candidates: earn a degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program; pass the FE exam; gain acceptable work experience (typically a minimum of four years); and pass the PE exam in the appropriate discipline. The PE exam tests your ability to practice competently in a particular engineering discipline. It is designed for engineers who have gained at least four years# post-college work experience in their chosen engineering discipline. The International Code Council (ICC) Commercial Energy Inspector certification validates an individual's basic technical knowledge, education and related experience as an inspector. The certification holder demonstrates the ability to perform diagnostic testing and analysis to support energy efficiency within a home or building and has knowledge of building and international energy conservation codes. A certified individual has an understanding of mechanical systems, electrical power and lighting systems, and building service water heating systems. There are no experience requirements, education requirements, or pre-requisites that must be met prior to taking the written exam. However, individuals seeking the Commercial Energy Inspector certification should have technical knowledge and related experience in their chosen field of expertise. Candidates are required to pass a multiple-choice written exam with at least a 75%.

The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), Construction Materials Testing: Asphalt - Level II certification is a mid-level credential for field and laboratory associate engineering technicians who test and inspect construction asphalts. Candidates for the Construction Materials Testing: Asphalt - Level II certification have the knowledge, experience and skills needed to work more independently than Level I technicians. Under supervision, candidates determine sampling frequencies and procedures (for example, ASTM and AASHTO); conduct a variety of aggregate and asphalt mix tests; monitor asphalt plant operations; identify issues with mix production and placement; follow safe work practices; apply job hazards analyses; perform equipment calibration; verify equipment operation and perform equipment maintenance;perform math calculations and report test results and observations. Candidates are required to pass an exam and to obtain a supervisor’s verification of satisfying experience requirements.

The Construction Materials Testing: Asphalt - Level III certification program was designed for field and laboratory technicians engaged specifically in the testing and inspection of construction materials. Knowledge of engineering properties of construction materials used in buildings, roads, and related civil engineering projects and knowledge of testing specifications, standards, methods, and materials evaluation is required. Candidates must have 5 years of experience. At least three of these years must be in the testing of asphalt mixes and components and two years must be in some combination of soils, concrete, or other related construction materials testing. This certification also requires a Supervisor's verification of all work elements used to meet the exam requirement and passing a written examination.

The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), Construction Materials Testing: Asphalt - Level IV certification program was designed for field and laboratory technicians engaged specifically in the testing and inspection of construction materials. Candidates must have knowledge of engineering properties of construction materials used in buildings, roads, and related civil engineering projects and of testing specifications, standards, methods, and materials evaluation. Candidates must have a minimum of 120 months of direct involvement in activities related to construction materials testing. Candidates must also provide a detailed description of a major project and their role showing Senior responsibility for an asphalt construction materials testing project of substantial complexity. A written exam must be taken and passed.

The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), Construction Materials Testing: Concrete - Level I is an entry-level credential for field and laboratory technician trainees who test and inspect construction concrete. The candidates for NICET certification at Level I in Construction Materials Testing – Concrete should have the knowledge, experience and basic skills needed to work in the industry. Under direct supervision, candidates should become familiar with sampling standards (for example, ASTM and AASHTO); follow sampling procedures; conduct various methods of concrete testing; gain a basic understanding of concrete properties; perform basic math calculations; read with basic comprehension skills, grasping construction and materials terminology; use safe practices such as wearing personal protective equipment; identify task-specific hazards; verify current calibration and equipment operation; verify that concrete materials are to specifications; support engineers by performing routine testing and work in vertical or horizontal construction.
