The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), Construction Materials Testing: Asphalt - Level IV certification program was designed for field and laboratory technicians engaged specifically in the testing and inspection of construction materials. Candidates must have knowledge of engineering properties of construction materials used in buildings, roads, and related civil engineering projects and of testing specifications, standards, methods, and materials evaluation. Candidates must have a minimum of 120 months of direct involvement in activities related to construction materials testing. Candidates must also provide a detailed description of a major project and their role showing Senior responsibility for an asphalt construction materials testing project of substantial complexity. A written exam must be taken and passed.

Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have a minimum of 120 months of direct involvement in activities related to construction materials testing.
- At least 60 months must be full-time experience in the testing of asphalt mixes and components.
- Up to 60 months may be in full-time experience in some combination of soils, concrete, and/or other related construction materials testing
