The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), Construction Materials Testing: Concrete - Level III certification program was designed for field and laboratory technicians engaged specifically in the testing and inspection of construction materials. Candidates must have knowledge of engineering properties of construction materials used in buildings, roads, and related civil engineering projects and knowledge of testing specifications, standards, methods, and materials evaluation. Candidates must have Level II work experience plus three additional years and at least three of these years must involve concrete testing and QA/QC as the primary activity. The balance may be in construction and/or other materials testing activities. Candidates must obtain a supervisor's verification of all work elements and take and pass a written examination.

Candidate must submit a supervisor's verification with their application or on the Work Element Verification form validating they have repeatedly and competently performed the tasks described in the Construction Materials Testing: Concrete Work Element description. Additionally, the candidate must submit a Technician Personal Recommendation form completed on their behalf by a qualified industry member who is familiar with their technical capabilities and professional character.
