The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), Highway Construction Inspection Level II certification is for junior-level technicians with who perform routine tasks under general daily supervision. Candidates must have knowledge in interpretation of contract plans and specifications; project record keeping and reporting; construction surveying; field inspection and testing procedures, techniques, and equipment. Certification at Levels II, III, and IV does not require prior certification at the lower level, but it does require meeting the certification requirements of the lower levels. Candidates must have minimal relevant work experience or entry level training in highway construction inspection. Candidates must obtain a Supervisor's verification of all work elements and take and pass a written examination.
