The Architectural Certified Drafter credential is part of an examination system which the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) developed to establish a credentialing system based on an individual's competency level. It is recommended that the applicant completes two years on-the-job training or 800 - 1200 Contact Hours of Practical Discipline Specific Education.

The Architectural Certified Drafter credential has the following recertification information:
- To renew the certification, the recipient must be employed two out of the three years in the profession and have 30 contact hours of additional related training.
