The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), National Certified Counselor (NCC) is an intermediate-level certification for practitioners of behavioral health and psychology. NCC is a prerequisite for follow-on for advanced-level NBCC certifications; this is the primary credential of the NBCC. Requirements for obtaining the NCC credential include; holding a graduate degree in counseling (or one with a major study in counseling) from a regionally accredited college or university, graduate-level coursework in specified coursework areas, practical experience in providing counseling service, and a passing the associated National Counselor Exam (NCE).

The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) is an advanced-level credential for professionals who practice clinical mental health counseling. CCMHCs diagnose and treat mental illness, often working as part of a health care team which may include doctors, nurse specialists, psychologists, and social workers. Candidates for the CCMHC are required to meet extensive educational, experiential, training, and other requirements. Candidates must take a written exam.

The Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) designation recognizes event professionals who have successfully demonstrated the knowledge, skills and ability essential to perform all components of a special event. To qualify as a candidate for the CSEP exam, one must have a minimum of three (3) years of full-time professional employment in the special events industry. The CSEP Exam is a two part examination consisting of a multiple choice portion and a written portion.

The American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP), Board Certified Specialist in Clinical Psychology credential is an advanced-level certification for professionals who provide both general practice and health services within professional psychology. Clinical Psychologists provide professional services related to the diagnosis, assessment, evaluation, treatment, and prevention of psychological, emotional, psychophysiological, and behavioral disorders in individuals across the life-span. In addition to the generic requirements for board certification, the Clinical Psychology specialty requires completion of an organized doctoral education and training program in Clinical Psychology, including an internship, the specialty also requires postdoctoral supervised practice and related experience. Candidates for the Board Certified Specialist in Clinical Psychology credential must also pass the exam.

The American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP), Board Certified Specialist in Counseling Psychology credential is an advanced-level certification for professionals who provide psychotherapy, assessment, teaching, research, supervision, career development, and consultation. Counseling Psychologists provide professional psychological care to support personal and interpersonal functioning with a focus on individual, group, and community interventions for emotional, behavioral, vocational, and mental health problems using preventative, developmental, and remedial approaches, and in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychopathology. Candidates for the Board Certified Specialist in Counseling Psychology credential must meet educational, experiential, training and other requirements, and must also pass the exam.

The American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP), Board Certified Specialist in Rehabilitation Psychology credential is an advanced-level certification for Rehabilitation Psychologists. Rehabilitation Psychologists support individuals with disabilities; they assist individuals in coping with and adjusting to chronic, traumatic, or congenital injuries or illnesses that may result in a wide variety of physical, sensory, neurocognitive, emotional, and developmental disabilities. Candidates for the ABPP Board Certified Specialist in Rehabilitation Psychology must meet educational, experiential, training and other requirements, and must also pass the exam.

Renewal Period: 5 years

The Certified Mapping Scientist, GIS/LIS certification is for professionals involved in GIS/LIS systems design and/or systems application of data base management and computer programs that allow for the utilization of spatially referenced databases for solving user analysis requirements. They are responsible for the integration of data needs and the development of correspondence between the utilization of various spatial systems of often-different generic origins that are used to solve requirements. Requirements include the following: 1) three years of experience in mapping sciences or photogrammetry in a position of responsibility demonstrating professional knowledge of and competence in mapping science and mapping procedures; 2) three years of professional experience in the Geographic or Land Information Systems, during which professional knowledge and competence in those systems were demonstrated; 3) references from four persons who are holding, or who have held, responsible positions in the mapping sciences and in the Geographic or Land Information Systems area and have first-hand knowledge of the applicants professional and personal qualifications; 4) declaration of compliance with the Code of Ethics of the ASPRS; and 5) the successful completion of a written examination.

The Certified Mapping Scientist, Remote Sensing certification is for professionals who specialize in analysis of images acquired from aircraft, satellites or ground bases, or platforms using visual or computer-assisted technology. Analysis is used by various specialized disciplines in the study of natural resources, temporal changes, and for land use planning. They develop analytical techniques and sensor systems. Candidates must have 1) three years of experience in photogrammetric and/or cartographic applications, all of which have been in a position of responsibility that demonstrated knowledge and competence in planning and application; and 2) three years of specialized experience at a professional level in remote sensing and interpretation of data from various imaging systems and/or design of remote sensing systems. Candidates must also submit references from four persons who are holding or who have held responsible positions in the mapping sciences and remote sensing and have first-hand knowledge of the applicants professional and personal qualifications, declare compliance with the Code of Ethics of the ASPRS, and successfully complete a written examination.

Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) certification is intended for professionals working within addiction related disciplines who wish to demonstrate their specialized addiction treatment skills gained through years of supervised work experience and specific graduate coursework. This is a high level certification. Applicants must hold current state certification/licensure as an alcoholism and/or drug abuse counselor from the list of accepted state credentials. They must hold 500 hours of education and training to include Master's degree in the healing arts- counseling, social work, family therapy, nursing, psychology, or other human services field and three years of supervised experience - two-thirds of which must be post-master's degree award. The certification examination is distributed over four areas: pharmacology of psychoactive substances, counseling practice, theoretical base of counseling, and professional issues.

The National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification, Inc., Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential is designed to recognize qualified professionals in the field of recreational therapy. Recreational therapy utilizes activity-based interventions to address the needs of individuals with illnesses and/or disabling conditions to aid in recovery and improve overall well-being. Recreational therapy is a process designed to aid clients in their functioning so they may more fully participate in life. Certification of a recreational therapist quickly communicates to employers and clients that the therapist has achieved certain standards of professionalism, education, and experience. To obtain a CTRS certification, candidates must meet eligibility requirements and pass an exam.

The Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP) is an advanced skill level credential for professionals who lead and direct projects. Project Managers perform their duties under general supervision for the duration of a project and are responsible for all aspects of a project. PMPs lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the constraints of schedule, budget, and scope. Project Management Professionals seeking certification through PMI demonstrate knowledge and experience to apply a methodology to projects that have well-defined requirements and deliverables. To apply for the PMP, candidates must meet experiential and educational requirements and are required to pass the written exam.

The American Academy of Health Care Providers in the Addictive Disorders, Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) certification is for health care professionals in the field of addictive disorders, which includes specializations in the following five areas: alcohol addiction, drug addiction, eating disorders, gambling disorders, and sex addiction. The CAS is a clinical certification based upon experience providing treatment under the direction of a qualified clinical supervisor, specialized training, and a written examination.

Renewal Period: 5 years

The National Contract Management Association (NCMA), Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) certification is for contracting professionals in both the public and private sectors who deal extensively with federal contracts and have a minimum of one year of experience. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution, one year of experience, and 80 hours of continuing professional education to be eligible for the CFCM certification. Candidates lacking the degree requirement who have 10 years of verifiable contract management experience may apply for a degree waiver.  To earn the CFCM certification, a candidate must pay the applicable fees and pass an exam.

The GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF) is a basic skill level certification for managers, information security officers, and system administrators who need an overview of information assurance, risk management and defense in depth techniques. The GISF is targeted toward individuals who write, implement, or must adhere to, disaster recovery or business continuity policies. GISF candidates will be able to demonstrate key concepts of information security including understanding the threats and risks to information and information resources, identifying best practices that can be used to protect them, and learning to diversify our protection strategy. There are no prerequisites for the GISF certification.

The Project Management Institute (PMI), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is an entry-level certification for project practitioners. Designed for those with less project experience, the CAPM demonstrates an understanding of the fundamental knowledge, terminology and processes of effective project management. The written exam covers project management areas such as initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, closing, and professional and social responsibility. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1500 hours professional experience on a project team or 23 hours of project management education.

The Project Management Institute (PMI), Program Management Professional (PgMP) is an advanced career certification for professionals who oversee multiple, related projects and their resources to achieve strategic business goals. It may also extend to control mechanisms for guiding the implementation of the strategy. Candidates must be a college graduate or have or 5 years' work experience in strategic planning or related field with a minimum of 2 years in an internal planning role or as a junior external planning consultant.
