Additional considerations for the Associate Electronics Technician (CETa) include:
- In addition to the CETa certification, applicants might also consider the more advanced journeyman-level Certified Electronics Technician certifications. To attain journeyman level certification, an applicant must have at least two years of experience and pass an entire certification exam, which consists of the Associate level (CETa) exam plus one of the specialized Journeyman options. The applicant must score at least 75% on both the Associate and the Journeyman exams to pass. For more information go to the ETA-I web site.
- ETA-I Senior Certified Electronics Technician (CETsr) certification requires a technician to have six or more years of combined work and electronics training and pass the Associate level exam plus one of the specialized Journeyman options.
- ETA-I Master Certified Electronics Technician (CETma) certification requires a technician to have six or more years of combined work and electronics training; pass the Associate level exam and any six specialized Journeyman options with no more than two originating from the same specialized category in the Master CET chart.
