This series includes positions that involve analytical or managerial work concerned with receiving, handling, storing, maintaining while in storage, issuing, or physically controlling items within a storage and distribution system. Positions covered by this series require as their primary qualification, knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of managing the physical receipt, custody, care, and distribution of material, including the selection of appropriate storage sites, material handling equipment, and facilities.

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is an intermediate-level credential for professionals who support workplace safety practices. Candidates are required to have professional experience that includes safety responsibilities. CSPs conduct worksite assessments, determine risk, measure hazards and controls, evaluate risk and hazard control measures, investigate incidents, maintain incident and loss records, and prepare emergency response plans. Candidates are required to hold a bachelor's degree in any field. CSP candidates must meet experiential requirements that relate to the field of workplace safety. Candidates must pass a written exam.

Renewal Period: 5 years

The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM), Certified Records Manager (CRM) certification requires candidates to meet both educational and work experience certification requirements. A minimum of one year of professional records and information management (RIM) work experience is required, regardless of the level of education a candidate possesses. The minimum acceptable education is graduation from high school (completion of 12 grades) or equivalent (e.g., GED credential or equivalency diploma) in conjunction with five years of professional level RIM experience. The preferred qualifications are a college degree (four-year or bachelor’s degree) and one year of professional RIM experience. CRM candidates must pass a six-part written examination.

The Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) is a professional who leads and champions process-improvement initiatives everywhere from small businesses to multinational corporations that can have regional or global focus in a variety of service and industrial settings. A CMQ/OE facilitates and leads team efforts to establish and monitor customer/supplier relations, supports strategic planning and deployment initiatives, and helps develop measurement systems to determine organizational improvement. The CMQ/OE should be able to motivate and evaluate staff, manage projects and human resources, analyze financial situations, determine and evaluate risk and employ knowledge management tools and techniques in resolving organizational challenges. Candidate must have ten years of on-the-job experience in one or more of the areas of the CMQ/OE Body of Knowledge. A minimum of five years of this experience must be in a decision-making position. Candidate must pass a written examination.

The Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential validates an individual's knowledge and competency to practice as a facility manager. The certification process is designed to assess competency in the field through work experience, education and a written exam. The comprehensive exam is designed to assess an applicant's knowledge and experience in areas necessary to be a successful facility manager such as operations and maintenance, project management, finance and business, leadership and strategy, environmental stewardship and sustainability, communication, emergency preparedness and business continuity, human factors, quality, real estate and property management and technology.

Renewal Period: 3 years

The Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) is a certification for experienced professionals with the experience and knowledge to direct and administer a private fleet, traffic, or transportation operation. The CTP designation confirms that holders have the knowledge and ability to understand complex operational and regulatory issues, identify and evaluate potential costs and savings, and develop systems and practices that best meet their company's transportation objectives and needs. The knowledge and skills required to successfully complete the CTP examination include areas of finance, operations, safety, human resources, and vehicle and equipment maintenance. To be eligible for the CTP, candidates must achieve at least 600 certification points earned through fleet management/supplier experience, formal education, active participation in the fleet/transportation community, and your continued pursuit of education. At least 500 points must be earned through fleet management/supplier experience where each year of experience is worth 100 points. Candidates must also pass an examination.

The Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP) is an advanced skill level credential for professionals who lead and direct projects. Project Managers perform their duties under general supervision for the duration of a project and are responsible for all aspects of a project. PMPs lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the constraints of schedule, budget, and scope. Project Management Professionals seeking certification through PMI demonstrate knowledge and experience to apply a methodology to projects that have well-defined requirements and deliverables. To apply for the PMP, candidates must meet experiential and educational requirements and are required to pass the written exam.

The Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) is an advanced skill level certification that demonstrates competencies for those engaged in governmental purchasing, and attests that a purchaser has reached a specific level of education and experience and is knowledgeable about government purchasing. Candidates must pass an exam that covers the following topics: administrative aspects of purchasing; sourcing; the negotiation process; contract administration; supply management; and strategic procurement planning. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, five years of public procurement experience, and additional training and/or coursework in the area of procurement.

The CPIM designation is aimed at professionals involved in career fields such as Production and inventory management, Operations, Supply chain management, Procurement, Materials management, and Purchasing. Candidates must pass two examinations and agree to adhere to the APICS Code of Ethics.

The Project Management Institute (PMI), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is an entry-level certification for project practitioners. Designed for those with less project experience, the CAPM demonstrates an understanding of the fundamental knowledge, terminology and processes of effective project management. The written exam covers project management areas such as initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, closing, and professional and social responsibility. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1500 hours professional experience on a project team or 23 hours of project management education.

The American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is for individuals who possess the knowledge to understand and manage the integration and coordination of end-to-end supply chain activities. The CSCP takes a broad view of operations, extending beyond internal operations to encompass the entire supply chain, from supplier, through the company, to the end consumer. CSCP candidates must meet an experience, degree or credential eligibility requirement and pass a written exam.

As a Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioner (CHMP) your job encompasses more than just environmental protection, waste management, dangerous goods transportation, safety, or materials handling. Candidates must have at least 5 years of relevant experience with responsibilities directly related to the handling of hazardous materials and/or waste in the workplace; or, an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree from an accredited college or university in hazardous materials management, environmental science, environmental management, or environmental technology, plus 3 years of relevant experience as described above. Candidates must pass a written exam.

The Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification is for supply chain and procurement professionals with skills in areas such as finance, supplier relationship management, organizational global strategy, and risk compliance. Candidates must either have five years of full-time, professional supply management experience (non-clerical, nonsupport) without a qualified bachelor's degree or have three years of full-time, professional supply management experience (non-clerical, nonsupport) and must have a bachelor's degree. Candidates must also pass three written exams. Candidates who are Certified Purchasing Managers (CPMs) in good standing with a bachelor's degree only need to take a CPSM Bridge Exam.

The Certified Logistics Technician (CLTAE) recognizes individuals who demonstrate mastery of the core competencies of material handling at the front-line (entry-level through front-line supervisor). The goal of the CLTAE is to raise the level of performance of logistics workers both to assist the individuals in finding higher-wage jobs. The CLTAE consists of two parts: the foundational-level Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) certificate and the mid-level technical CLT certification. Before taking the CLTAE assessment, candidates must have a CLA certificate. MSSC strongly recommends that individuals be at an 8th-grade math and 10th-grade reading level.

The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC), Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) is a foundational-level credential and is a prerequisite for the Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) certification. MSSC training and assessment addresses the need for employability and academic skills as well as technical skills. MSSC strongly recommends that individuals be at the 8th grade level of math and 9th grade level of English before attempting MSSC courses and assessments. There are no experiential or hands-on requirements for MSSC certification as it is expected that individual employers will determine those requirements based upon their own specific needs. MSSC does not require that individuals take MSSC courses prior to testing. Critical work functions and their related key activities for the CLA include: global supply chain logistics life cycle, logistics environment, material handling equipment, safety principles, safe material handling and equipment operation, quality control principles, workplace communications, teamwork and workplace behavior to solve problems, and using computers.

The CSCMP SCPro Level One- Cornerstones of Supply Chain Management is an entry-level credential for supply chain professionals. Candidates for the SCPro Level One- Cornerstones of Supply Chain Management certification must meet experience and education requirements determined by CSCMP. Candidates must also pass the exam.
