This series includes all classes of positions the duties of which are to supervise or perform check-out, sales clerk, customer assistance, or other clerical duties that are involved in the retail sale of merchandise or stock items and that require the application of clerical knowledge, procedures, and/or practices that are peculiar to sales store operations.

Renewal Period: 5 years

The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) credential is recommended for mid-career level office management and business administrative professionals. Administrative professionals should have basic knowledge of office systems, technology, office administration, and management, and know how to apply the principles of human relations and communications. Candidates must take an pass a written examination based on knowledge acquired by the office professional through education and reading. Candidates must have 4 years of experience of which advanced education may be used in place of some experience.

Renewal Period: 5 years

The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM), Certified Records Manager (CRM) certification requires candidates to meet both educational and work experience certification requirements. A minimum of one year of professional records and information management (RIM) work experience is required, regardless of the level of education a candidate possesses. The minimum acceptable education is graduation from high school (completion of 12 grades) or equivalent (e.g., GED credential or equivalency diploma) in conjunction with five years of professional level RIM experience. The preferred qualifications are a college degree (four-year or bachelor’s degree) and one year of professional RIM experience. CRM candidates must pass a six-part written examination.

Renewal Period: 2 years

Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exhibits coding competency across all settings, including both hospitals and physician practices. This is an entry level certification and requires candidates to have a high school diploma. Although not required, it is strongly recommended that candidates have at least six months experience in a healthcare organization applying ICD-9-CM and CPT coding conventions and guidelines or should have completed an approved coding training program.

Renewal Period: 2 years

The National Healthcare Association (NHA), Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is an entry-level certification for professionals who support licensed pharmacists by providing medication and other healthcare products to patients. Tasks commonly performed by CPhTs include measuring medication amounts, packaging and labeling prescriptions, establishing and maintaining patient records, accepting payment for prescriptions, processing insurance claims, and managing inventory. Eligibility requirements for pharmacy technicians vary by State. To qualify for the NHA CPhT applicants must meet experience and training requirements and must also pass the exam.

The National Retail Federation (NRF), Advanced Customer Service and Sales Certification is an intermediate-level certification for professionals who provide customer support. The Advanced Customer Service and Sales Certification assesses candidates’ selling skills and their ability to gain customer commitment. Candidates for the Advanced-level customer service and sales certification are required to earn the entry-level NRF Customer Service and Sales Certification first. Candidates must take a written exam.

The National Retail Federation (NRF), Customer Service and Sales Certification is an entry-level certification for professionals who provide customer support. The Customer Service and Sales Certification assesses candidates' core customer service skills that are applicable to a range of entry-level through first-line supervisory positions across the sales and service industries. The Customer Service and Sales credential is recommended for anyone interested in obtaining a job or pursuing a career in retail and other industries that value customer service skills. The certification exam measures candidates’ knowledge in the areas of products and services, customer needs, informing and educating customers, meeting customers' needs and providing ongoing support. Candidates must take a written exam.
