The exam tests applicant's hands-on troubleshooting skills utilizing a multi-meter, function generator, and oscilloscope along with an electronic trainer and test cards. The certification validates applicant's knowledge of various AC theories, equipment, math, cabling, and other related subjects. Applicants have different options to meet the eligibility requirements, active duty or veteran military personnel whose rating or assignment is/was in the related field meet the eligibility requirement for BEE-AC certification.

Applicant should have completed advance training in the Alternating Current (AC) discipline.
Option 2:Applicant should have at least two years of work experience in an AC technician field.
Option 3:Applicant should be an active or veteran military personnel whose rating or assignment is or was in the AC technician field.
Option 4:Applicant should be a college or technical school graduate with a two-year degree in engineering/technology related discipline.
