The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification is designed for HR professionals at a senior-level who operate primarily in a strategic role—developing policies and strategies, overseeing the execution of HR operations, analyzing performance metrics, and contributing to the alignment of HR strategies to organizational goals. Candidates must meet minimum experiential and educational requirements. Candidate with less than bachelor's degree must have a minimum of six years in a HR role or seven years in a HR role with a non-HR related degree. Candidates must pass a written exam.

Education and/or Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidates with less than a bachelor's degree must have a minimum of 6 years working in a HR role or 7 years in a HR role with a non-HR related degree.
* Less than a bachelor’s degree includes: working toward a bachelor's degree, associate's degree, some college, qualifying HR certificate program, high school diploma, or GED. Learn about student eligibility.
Candidates with a bachelor's degree must have a minimum of 4 years working in a HR role or 5 years in a HR role with a non-HR related degree.
Option 3:Candidates with a graduate degree must have a minimum of 3 years working in a HR role or 4 years of working in a HR role with a non-HR related degree.
Regardless of education level, one year of experience may be subsituted for a degree in an HR-related field.
