The Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) tests, calibrates, maintains and repairs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, analytical and electronic measuring, recording and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards. Candidate must have five years of on-the-job experience in one or more of the areas of the Certified Calibration Technician Body of Knowledge (If the candidate has completed a degree from a college, university, or technical school with accreditation accepted by ASQ, part of the five-year experience requirement will be waived). Candidate must pass a written examination.

Candidate must have five years of on-the-job experience in one or more of the areas of the Certified Calibration Technician Body of Knowledge.

Part of the five-year experience requirement will be waived if the candidate has completed a degree from a college, university, or technical school with accreditation accepted by ASQ, as follows (only one of these waivers may be claimed):

  • Diploma from a technical, military, or trade school—two years waived
  • Associate degree—two years waived
  • Bachelor's degree—two years waived
  • Master's or doctorate—two years waived

 

The Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) credential has the following other requirements:

RECERTIFICATION

Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)

Renewal Period: 3 years

The Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) credential has the following recertification information:

  • The CCT certification is renewed every three years by obtaining and documenting 18 recertification units (RUs) in a recertification journal and paying a journal fee or retaking the certification exam at the end of the three year recertification period and paying an exam fee.

Additional considerations for the Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) include:

  • Candidates who are active members of the U.S military are eligible for discounted exam fees. Candidate must submit a copy of their military ID at time of application. For more information visit the CCT Application information on the ASQ website.
