Network+ ce is an intermediate skill level certification for IT technicians who can describe the features and functions of networking components and manage, maintain, troubleshoot, install, operate and configure basic network infrastructure. In addition, certification holders have a basic understanding of enterprise technologies, including cloud and virtualization technologies. Network+ ce is appropriate for computer network technicians, engineers, analysts and administrators. Although not a prerequisite, it is recommended that CompTIA Network+ ce candidates have at least nine months of experience in network support or administration or academic training, along with a CompTIA A+ ce certification.

RECERTIFICATION

CompTIA Network+ ce

Renewal Period: 3 years

The CompTIA Network+ ce credential has the following recertification information:

  • Beginning January 1, 2011, CompTIA A+ ce, CompTIA Network+ ce and CompTIA Security+ ce certifications are valid for three years from the date the candidate becomes certified. After January 2011, certified individuals will need to enroll in the CompTIA Continuing Education program and will have three years from the date certified to successfully complete the required CE units, earn a higher level CompTIA Certification, or pass the CompTIA Recertification Exam. 

    Individuals certified on or before December 31, 2010 in CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ will retain their "certified for life" status. More information on the renewal requirements can be found on the CompTIA website.

Additional considerations for the CompTIA Network+ ce include:

  • It is recommended for CompTIA Network+ ce candidates to have the following:

    • CompTIA A+ ce certification or equivalent knowledge, though CompTIA A+ ce certification is not required.
    • At least nine to twelve months of work experience in IT networking.
