This series covers positions that manage, supervise, lead, or perform scientific work that involves: - conducting research on basic mathematical principles, methods, procedures, techniques, or relationships; or - developing mathematical methods to solve a variety of scientific, engineering, economic, and/or military problems where precise specification of the relationships, rigor and economy of mathematical operations, and logical deduction are the controlling considerations.

Renewal Period: 3 years

The Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a certification for payroll beginners and service and support professionals with payroll knowledge. The FPC is open to all those who wish to demonstrate a baseline of payroll competency. The FPC is designed for entry-level payroll professionals, sales professionals/consultants serving the payroll industry, systems analysts/engineers writing payroll programs, and payroll service bureau client representatives. There are no payroll experience requirements to take written exam.

Renewal Period: 3 years

The Certified Bookkeeper (CB) credential is an intermediate level certification recommended for bookkeepers with several years of accounting or bookkeeping experience. Candidates must have at least 2 years of full-time experience or the part-time or freelance equivalent, which may be obtained before or after passing the examination. All candidates must also sign a Code of Ethics.

Renewal Period: 5 years

The Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is for those who have achieved professional profiency in all aspects of taxation and tax reporting, MIS, human resources, and accounting as each of these relate to the payroll environment. Candidates must meet the experience and/or education requirments as well as pass a written exam.

Renewal Period: 2 years

The Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) is an entry-level to mid-level professional certification recommended for government financial managers. The CGFM certifies an individual’s knowledge of governmental accounting, auditing, financial reporting, internal controls and budgeting at the federal, state and local levels. CGFM candidates must have at least two years of professional-level experience in government financial management. To take any of the CGFM examinations, candidates must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Candidates and those certified agree to adhere to the AGA's Code of Ethics.

The Adolescence and Young Adulthood/Mathematics certification is appropriate for teachers who teach students ages 14-18+ and who know the full range of the school mathematics curriculum: numbers and operations, algebra and functions; geometry; discrete mathematics; trigonometry; data analysis and statistics; and calculus. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, have a minimum of three years of teaching experience at the early childhood, elementary, middle school, or high school level, and where it is required, hold a state teaching license. Candidates must pass a computer-based assessment and submit three portfolio entries.

The Early Adolescence/Mathematics certification is appropriate for teachers who teach students ages 11-15 and who know the full range of the school mathematics curriculum: numbers and operations; algebra and functions; geometry; discrete mathematics; trigonometry; data analysis and statistics; and calculus as described in the Mathematics Standards. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, have a minimum of three years of teaching experience at the early childhood, elementary, middle school, or high school level, and where it is required, hold a state teaching license. Candidates must pass a computer-based assessment and submit three portfolio entries.

The Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT), Accredited Business Accountant (ABA) certification focuses on financial accounting, financial reporting, financial statement preparation, taxation, managerial accounting, business law, and ethics for small-to-medium-sized businesses. ABA candidates must meet work experience requirements. Candidates should also check with the local state board of accountancy for compliance rules since different states have different regulatory requirements.

INFORMS, Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) certification advances the use of analytics by setting agreed upon standards for the profession and advances the profession by providing a means for organizations to identify and develop qualified analytics professionals, by contributing to the career success and continued competence for analytics professionals, and by improving the credibility and visibility of the analytics profession. The CAP examination measures acceptable performance across seven major areas or domains of practice that adhere to the analytics end-to-end process: business problem framing, analytics problem framing, data, methodology selection, model building, deployment, and model life cycle management. Candidates must have a minimum of a BA/BS degree and at least 7 years of professional analytics related experience.
