Wireless Device Certification Professional (WDCP)
Credential: Wireless Device Certification Professional (WDCP)
Credentialing Agency: International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE)
Renewal Period: 1 year
The Wireless Device Certification Professional (WDCP) is applicable for both Engineers and Technicians who are skilled and knowledgeable in the global regulatory requirements related to a wide range of wireless devices. The WDCP is a four-step process based on education, work experience, peer endorsement and examination. Applicants must provide specific record of acceptable post-secondary education and six years or more of experience in related device certification work. Post-secondary education requirements may be waived upon submission of a record of 10 years or more of related device certification work. Applicants must take and pass a written exam that tests their knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) fundamentals and specific understanding of wireless device testing. The written exam covers topics such as Electromagnetics, Certification Knowledge, Administration, Licensed and Unlicensed Devices and RF Exposure. Applicants who are already iNARTE Certified EMC Engineers or Technicians are exempt from taking Part I of the WDCP exam, EMC Fundamentals.
