RECERTIFICATION
Residential Electrical Inspector - E1
Renewal Period: 3 years
Additional considerations for the Residential Electrical Inspector - E1 include:
- Inspectors should possess the right mix of technical knowledge, education and related experience. Proper weighting of these three qualifications is a subjective decision. Determining the emphasis of ICC certification is most appropriately performed at the local level by the building official. For this reason, ICC does not specify education or experience requirements for certification applicants for most categories.
- Successfully passing this exam in combination with other specific exams and requirements may allow a candidate to obtain a combination designation. A combination designation is granted automatically through a candidate's myICC account once all prerequisites are met and all exams have been passed.
Visit the ICC's page on Combination Designations to learn more about earning a designation.
