The International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA) Professional Cost Estimator/Analyst (PCEA) demonstrates an individual's ability and understanding of math and statistics principles with engineering, program management, procurement, budgeting and accounting disciplines. Cost estimating requires a solid foundation of cost knowledge woven together with a variety of cost experiences. The PCEA examination consists of Part I of the CCEA examination that tests Foundation Knowledge and Practical Application. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college a minimum of two but not more than five years of cost experience, or five years of cost experience without a degree. The intent of this designation is to offer junior cost estimators a chance to validate their knowledge and show progression towards a CCEA.

Education and/or Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college and two years of cost experience.
Option 2:Candidates that do not have a Bachelor's degree must demonstrate five years of cost experience.
Written Exam Part I
Part I tests Foundation Knowledge and Practical Application. Part I consists of 60 multiple choice questions worth 1 point each. The applicant must pass Part I of the examination with an overallscore of 70% or greater to receive credit for the examination.

Additional considerations for the Professional Cost Estimator/Analyst (PCEA) include:
- Candidates applying for the PCEA because they do not meet CCEA eligibility requirements have the opportunity to take the entire CCEA examination (Part I and Part II). If they successfully pass both parts, they will be awarded the PCEA immediately, and, upon reaching five years of cost experience, will automatically receive their CCEA.
