Training and/or Experience REQUIREMENTS

ADDA recommends that applicants for the Mechanical Apprentice Drafter certification have at least one year of on-the-job training or 400 to 600 contact hours of practical mechanical drafter training.

Renewal Period: 5 years

The Mechanical Apprentice Drafter credential has the following recertification information:

  • The Mechanical Apprentice Drafter certification is non-renewable and will expire five years from the date of issue. Individuals who have earned the Mechanical Apprentice Drafter may pursue intermediate and advanced level mechanical drafter credentials or retest at the same level to retain the apprentice-level credential.
