The Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Certified Perimeter Protection Analyst (GPPA) certification targets individuals responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and monitoring a secure perimeter for any organization; including routers, firewalls, VPNs/remote access, and overall network design. The GPPA certification exam does not have any education or experience requirements. The GPPA certification replaces GIAC Certified Firewall Analyst (GCFW) certification as of 1 Jan 2014; this name change reflects the emerging requirements in perimeter security such as Cloud, mobile and virtualization.
