The Fire Protection: Fire Alarm Systems - Level IV credential is designed for senior engineering technicians working in the fire alarm industry who engage in a combination of the following fire alarm systems activities: system layout (plan preparation), system equipment selection, system installation, system acceptance testing, system trouble-shooting, system servicing, and system technical sales. Candidates must meet the Level I, II, III, and IV minimum eligibility requirements and pass those written exams. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years in the field of fire detection and signaling system.

Credential Pre-requisite REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must meet the Fire Alarm Systems- Level I, II, III requirements.
Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must have a total of 10 years of fire detection and signaling systems experience. This experience must include at least 45 months of fire alarm systems experience. Work history must cover technical business management and/or or a management role in installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, commissioning, technical system estimating and sales, plan preparation, and/or code compliance review.
Experience must involve at least two years of overseeing fire alarm systems project management, and up to 15 months of related experience.
Other REQUIREMENTS
The Fire Protection: Fire Alarm Systems - Level IV credential has the following other requirements:
- Candidate must provide a personal recommendation showing their ability for performing senior engineering technician responsiblities. They must also provide a detailed description of a major fire alarm system project of which they had senior responsibility.
