The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist (L2) certification is for technicians who possess knowledge of the skills necessary to diagnose sophisticated diesel engine performance problems on medium- and heavy-duty trucks. To earn the Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist (L2) certification, candidates must have passed one of the ASE Diesel Engine tests (A9, H2, S2, or T2) and one of the ASE Electrical/Electronic Systems tests (A6, H6, S6 or T6), have three years of relevant work experience, and pass a written exam.
