The National Petroleum Management Agency (NPMA), Certified Petroleum Journeyman (CPJ) - Level 2 is an intermediate-level credential for professional fuel handlers. Fuel handlers work in the fuel supply chain, from “wellhead to wingtip”; they work as operators, maintainers, accountants, programmers, managers, supervisors, controllers, transporters, mechanics, storage attendants, and quality control technicians. The CPA-2 certifies an individual's technical knowledge, safety, and product quality skill to work in the Petroleum Industry. Applicants are required to have eighteen months of experience, hold the Level I certification, and to undergo training approved by NPMA and to show progressive experience in the field that total 42 credits determined by the agency. Applicants are also required to pass an exam.

Credential Pre-requisite REQUIREMENTS
All NPMA certifications above the initial NPMA Certified Petroleum Apprentice (CPA) require that the earlier levels of certification are attained prior to applying for any higher levels of certification. An individual considering the CPJ mush have the CPA.
Experience REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have 18 months of experience certified and working as an NPMA CPA.
Training REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have 42 continuing education units.
