The International Fluid Power Society (IFPS), Fluid Power Engineer certification is for Certified Professional Engineers or individuals who hold a Bachelor of Science from an American Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) recognized university. Fluid Power Engineer candidates must hold the IFPS Hydraulic Specialist certification, the IFPS Pneumatic Specialist certification, and the IFPS Electronic Controls Specialist certification. Candidates must also have passed the IFPS Fluid Power Connector and Conductor written exam, provide five professional references, and have eight years of work experience in the fluid power and motion control industry.

Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have eight years of work experience in the fluid power and motion control industry.
Education and/or Training REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must be Certified Professional Engineers or hold a Bachelor of Science from an American Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) recognized university.
Other REQUIREMENTS
The Fluid Power Engineer credential has the following other requirements:
- Candidates must agree to adhere to the IFPS Code of Ethics.
- Candidates must have passed the IFPS Fluid Power Connector and Conductor written exam.
- Candidates must provide five signed professional references.
