The Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE), Certified Broadcast Networking Engineer (CBNE) is an intermediate-level certification for professionals who set up, operate, and maintain the electronic equipment used to transmit radio and television programs. CBNEs control audio equipment to regulate volume level and quality of sound during radio and television broadcasts and operate transmitter to broadcast radio or television programs. SBE requires that candidates for the CBNE have five years of related experience in broadcast engineering or related technology. CBNE candidates are also required to meet educational requirements and to pass an exam.
