An internationally recognized accreditation program open to police officers, engineers, educators and private consultants both all working in the field of traffic accident investigation and reconstruction within the United States and Canada. Although participation in the accreditation program is voluntary, people who are properly trained and experienced in accident investigation and reconstruction can successfully complete the examination and achieve accreditation.

Experience REQUIREMENTS
Any individual who is involved in preparing or offering expert opinion testimony with respect to the analysis of an automobile traffic collision is eligible to apply for Commission Accreditation.
Other REQUIREMENTS
The Accredited Traffic Accident Reconstructionist credential has the following other requirements:
- Candidates must submit an application with two passport size photos.
- Candidates should submit supporting documentation, certificates or other items showing completion of the educational programs or for any other experience claimed in the application.
- Candidates should provide the names and contact information for three references. Alternatively, candidates may provide three letters of recommendation. Such letter should include words that specifically show the person writing the letter knows that the candidate is applying for accreditation and how they are familiar with the candidate's work.
- Optionally, a copy of the applicant's work product may be submitted. While it is not required with the application, submission of a sample of work showing an opinion offered by the applicant and the supporting documents for that opinion may be helpful in evaluating the applicant's qualifications
