The AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty certification is intended for individuals who perform complex Big Data analyses. The exam validates an examinee’s technical skills and experience in designing and implementing AWS services to derive value from data. It is recommended that candidates hold an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or a current Associate-level certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified Developer - Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate; have a minimum of five years hands-on experience in a data analytics field; and a minimum of 2 years’ experience using AWS technology.

Renewal Period: 3 years

The AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty credential has the following recertification information:

  • AWS certifications are valid for 3 years. Certification holders may recertify by taking the current Specialty exam for the certification already held.

Additional considerations for the AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty include:

  • It is recommended that candidates hold an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or a current Associate-level certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified Developer - Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate; have a minimum of 2 years’ experience using AWS technology; and have at least 5 years’ experience in a data analytics field.
