Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE). Professionals who earn a CMfgE demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices. Earning the CMfgE requires a minimum of eight combined years of manufacturing-related education and work experience (a minimum of four years must be work experience). If a candidate has earned the CMfgT certification, he or she may qualify with seven combined years of manufacturing-related education and work experience. Candidates must pass the Manufacturing Engineering examination. Topics on the examination include math, applied science, design, materials, manufacturing processes, manufacturing management, manufacturing economics, quality control, computer applications, and automation.
