The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) credential is an entry-level health and fitness certification. CPTs assess, motivate, educate and train clients regarding their personal health and fitness needs. CPTs design safe and effective exercise programs, provide guidance to help their clients achieve health and fitness goals, and respond appropriately in emergency situations. Candidates are required to have a high school diploma or its equivalent and must also have current CPR/AED certificates.
