The Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT) is an intermediate-level certification for individuals responsible for finding security vulnerabilities in web applications. GWAPTs understand web application exploits and penetration testing methodology. Candidates for the GWAPT are not required to meet formal education or experiential requirements, and though GIAC offers training, it is optional. GWAPT candidates are required to pass an exam.
