A Certified Technology Specialist - Installation (CTS-I) installs and maintains audiovisual systems by following specifications, schematics, codes and safety protocols; administering installation process logistics; troubleshooting and problem-solving systems; maintaining tools and equipment; and communicating with clients, designers, other trades, other installers and staff to provide the best audiovisual solutions for client needs, on time and within budget. Applicants must agree to the terms and conditions as noted in the CTS-I Application, which includes agreement to the CTS Code of Ethics & Conduct; must hold current certification as a general CTS; must be in good standing with the Certification Committee; must provide documentation verifying a minimum of two years audiovisual industry experience in audiovisual installation; and must provide verification of attainment of skills in the following technical areas: termination, rack-build, projector set-up and installation, audio set-up and EQ, mounting equipment, and customer relations. Applicants must pass an examination.

RECERTIFICATION

Certified Technology Specialist - Installation (CTS-I)

Renewal Period: 3 years

The Certified Technology Specialist - Installation (CTS-I) credential has the following recertification information:

  • Must have completed thirty approved (30) renewal units (RUs) within the three year certification period.
  • Must sign and agree to continue to abide by and uphold the CTS Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • All levels of CTS certified individuals have the option to renew by taking the current certification exam corresponding to their existing renewal credential(s) instead of through the RU process.
