The National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), Certified Survey Technician (CST) - Field Track Level II is an intermediate-level credential for professionals who have experience and education in survey field operations and procedures used in survey work. Candidates for the CST Field Track Level II credential should be familiar with various types of surveys and survey field equipment, types of surveys and field operations, and demonstrating detailed knowledge of survey computations. Candidates should have knowledge of the principles of the profession and the ability to use hardware and software-based tools needed in survey work. Candidates are also expected to be familiar with comprehensive field note taking, plan reading and preparation. Candidates must take and pass an exam.

Education and/or Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have 1.5 years of surveying experience.
Option 2:Candidates must have 65 semester hours, or quarterly equivalent, of which 18 semester hours are surveying/engineering related and plus six months of full time work experience, consisting of at least 40 hours of survey related work per week. All course work used to meet educational requirements must appear on a transcript.
