The Electronics Technicians Association, International (ETA-1), Certified Network Computer Technician (NCT) should have knowledge of computer electronics basic concepts, Internet and networking technology applicable to various areas of the computer industry. More specifically, NCT candidates must be able to function, structure, operate, file manage, install, configure/upgrade, manage memory, diagnose and troubleshoot operating systems and hardware (including motherboard and processors and printers). Candidates must pass a written exam.

- A stand-alone NCT certification can be upgraded to a Journeyman CET. To qualify, candidates must have at least two years of combined work experience and electronics training and pass the Associate Electronics Technician (CETa) exam.
