The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), Certified Inspector (CI) is a credential for mid-level professionals who assess the current condition of houses. Certified Inspectors document their professional opinion of a home based on a visual evaluation and operational testing of the home’s systems and components. A CI should have broad technical knowledge of all house systems and an ability to communicate technical issues in terms that a layperson can understand.

Experience REQUIREMENTS
ASHI CI candidates must submit valid proof of performance of at least 250 fee-paid home inspections that meet or exceed the ASHI Standards of Practice.
Candidates are required to complete at least 30 days as an ASHI Associate Inspector.
Candidates are required to submit inspection reports successfully verified for compliance with ASHI’s Standards of Practice prior to being CI certified.
Other REQUIREMENTS
The Certified Inspector (CI) credential has the following other requirements:
