The EVT Certification Commission Inc. (EVT), Ambulance Technician Level I certification is for ambulance technicians with knowledge and skills in the design and performance standards, the specialized systems and equipment, and the accepted practices used in the service and maintenance of ambulances. Ambulance Technician Level 1 candidates must hold the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) A-4 Automobile, Suspension and Steering certification and the ASE A-5 Automobile, Brakes certification. Candidates must also pass both the EVT E-0 Maintenance, Inspection, and Testing of Ambulances exam and the EVT E-1 Design & Performance of Ambulances exam.
